Our Mission:

Utilizing the unique and effective McKenzie Method, Hudson Valley Physio & Spine Care’s mission is to provide the highest quality orthopedic care to people who are in pain, having difficulty completing everyday tasks or things they love to do, have experienced an injury, or want to return to a sport.

Our aim is to teach patients how to fix themselves and stay pain-free without fear of re-injury. We treat patients with SIMPLE exercises, without the need for costly and painful tests, medications, injections or surgeries in as FEW visits as possible.

Most patients average about five visits in order to return to their prior level of function.

The McKenzie Method:

The McKenzie Method is a unique, world renowned system of assessment to reach an accurate diagnosis. It has the most scientific research supporting its use and outcomes. Through a repetition of movement, a cause and effect of a patient’s symptoms is observed. Expensive tests are rarely required.

It is used for all mechanical musculoskeletal problems of the spine and extremities. Once the diagnosis is determined, the appropriate treatment plan involves simple exercises and patient education to provide the most optimal healing environment for the body.

Treat the source, not just the symptoms.

We are the only Certified McKenzie Spine and Extremities Clinic in the Hudson Valley, NY.

Our Services:

Physical Therapy:
Conditions treated but not limited to: Spinal pain, sciatica, pinched nerve, disc herniation, arm or leg pain, tendonitis, post-operative care and chronic pain.

Mobility Assessments: Using Functional Range Systems®
Functional Range Conditioning® is a comprehensive joint training system based in scientific principles and research in order to maintain and improve functional mobility, joint resilience, health and longevity. For those interested in the development of mobility, joint strength, and body control for everyday life or specific training needs.

Telehealth / Virtual Visits:
Certain conditions can be treated virtually. You can enjoy the visit from the comfort of your own home. For individuals with a compromised immune system, inability to travel, have the need for a convenient home-based appointment or have fear of a different environment, Telehealth visits can be used effectively instead of clinic visits.

Animal Flow® Classes:
An innovative fitness program that combines quadrupedal and ground-based movement with elements from various bodyweight-training disciplines to create a fun, challenging workout emphasizing multi-planar, fluid movement. Many benefits include improved strength, mobility and coordination.

Meet Dr. Anna:

I graduated from Fordham University and continued my studies in physical therapy at Sage Graduate School achieving my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I have over 10 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy.

I am one of approximately five hundred clinicians worldwide to complete the Diploma program of the McKenzie Method (which is the highest provider in this method) and I am the only provider in the Hudson Valley, NY region. I currently lecture on this topic at Marist college and assist in clinic courses offered by the McKenzie Institute.

Personally, I danced professionally with the Martha Graham Dance Ensemble. I have since been certified in teaching yoga and Animal Flow®. In the winter you will also find me working as a ski coach.

Testimonials:

After being in extreme pain, going to an emergency 1 clinic and then an orthopedic, being told I had tendonitis, bursitis and arthritis and given a script for PT (2-3x a week, 4-6 weeks), I scheduled with Anna. 24 hours after my initial evaluation, the pain level went from a constant 10 to sometimes a 1, and my mobility went from basically 0 with pain to about 85-90 with no pain. Simply amazing.
Jay G. - Kingston, NY

I had been dealing with severe intermittent back pain for 3 years, and had stopped all weightlifting movements that hurt my back. After only a few sessions with Dr. Anna,  I have been able to return to all regular movements within the sport of crossfit! I don't feel afraid or nervous when I see a deadlift programmed for me any more, and I have a better mental approach as well after working with Dr. Anna.
Erin K. - Kingston, NY

Anna was extremely helpful in my recovery of the skiing accident that resulted in the injury. I have recovered my full range of motion. She is totally dedicated to her patients and to their recovery process.
